Jerry Seinfeld is well known to us, because of his hit show ‘Seinfeld’, though he was part of television world even before ‘Seinfeld’ started or became famous, but popularity came to him with this one and then ‘Seinfeld’ the series was there for him through out. Jerry was never much interested in acting until he reached college, where he worked in some of the college productions and developed interest in stand up comedy. After he completed his degree from Queens College he tried his hand in television, where in the beginning years he struggled, but then success never comes easy. He started his television career with a Rodney Dangerfield HBO special. Later on he did a recurring role on ‘Benson’, from which he was fired, without any specific reason. He then returned to television with ‘Seinfeld‘ and started its production with Larry David. He was also a part of hit shows like ‘The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson’, ‘Late Night with David Letterman’ and ‘The Merv Griffin Show’. In the series ‘Seinfeld’, he plays himself and was loved in his, this role. The series revolves around him and his friends. In fact a number of episodes shown in the series were taken from his personal life.
Besides acting on screen, he is also a successful stand up comedian. He has received many awards because of his role in the series Seinfeld. He was ranked #12 in Comedy Central’s list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time. Recently he has appeared in number of television series like ‘Saturday Night Life’, ‘30 Rock’, ‘NewsRadio’, ‘Mad About You’, ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and ‘The New WKRP in Cincinnati’. In August 2008, it was announced that Jerry Seinfeld would be the pitchman for Windows Vista, as part of a $300 million dollar advertising campaign by Microsoft.
As far as his personal life is concerned, he is married to Jessica Seinfeld, since 1999 and has three children. The star stays in New York, where he has a multilevel apartment on Central Park West just down the street from his original, small bachelor studio on West 81st.
